How to Play E♭ on Bassoon

E♭ on the bassoon is written in the third space. It is the same note as D♯, so the fingering below works for both.

Concert pitch

E♭

Cover or press: whisper key, left first finger, left third finger, right thumb B♭ key and right second finger.

Leave the second left-hand hole open. The right thumb B♭ key and R2 steady held notes; drop them in fast passages.
