Clarinet Trill Chart
Special fingerings for the clarinet trills that are awkward or out of tune with the normal fingerings. Tap a trill to see it larger and hear it.
Hold down Move to trill
Hold low F with the right pinky and trill the left pinky E key.
Hold low E with the left pinky and trill the right pinky F♯/C♯ key.
Hold low F with the right pinky and trill the left pinky F♯ key.
Hold low F♯ with the left pinky and trill the right pinky A♭/E♭ key.
Finger B-flat and trill the small B/F♯ sliver key between the right middle and ring fingers.
Finger B and trill the C♯/G♯ key with the left pinky.
Hold C♯ and trill the left ring finger, keeping the pinky key down.
Hold C♯ and trill the lowest side key.
Finger F and trill the two lowest side keys together.
Finger F and trill the G♯ key with the side of the left index finger.
Play F♯ with the thumb and the two lowest side keys, then trill the G♯ key.
Hold G♯ and trill the second side key from the top.
Hold G♯ and trill the top side key.
Hold A and trill the second side key from the top.
Hold A and trill the top side key; B comes out as a throat tone, so you avoid crossing the break.
Hold B-flat (A key and register key) and trill the second side key from the top.
Hold B-flat (A key and register key) and trill the top two side keys together.
Hold C with the right pinky and trill the left pinky B key.
Hold B with the left pinky and trill the right pinky F♯/C♯ key.
Hold C with the right pinky and trill the left pinky C♯ key.
Hold C♯ with the left pinky and trill the right pinky A♭/E♭ key.
Finger F and trill the small B/F♯ sliver key between the right middle and ring fingers.
Finger F♯ and trill the C♯/G♯ key with the left pinky.
Hold G♯ and trill the left index finger.
Hold B and trill the two lowest side keys together.
Finger high C and trill the two lowest side keys together.
Finger high C and trill the second side key from the top.
How to use the trill chart
Finger the lower note as shown. Keep the dark keys down the whole time and move only the gold ones, as fast and evenly as you can.
A gold key that starts pressed is lifted for the upper note. A gold key that starts open is pressed for the upper note.
